Overview
The Stage Designer is responsible for the creative vision, design, and execution of the Campout’s stage environment. This role shapes the visual and spatial experience of the main stage, creating an immersive atmosphere that enhances performances and reflects the overall spirit of the event.
The stage will be a custom-built structure (approximately 10x30 ft), and this role will work in close collaboration with the Main Stage Builder to bring the design to life.
Key Responsibilities
Creative Direction & Design
Develop the overall concept and visual identity for the main stage
Design stage layouts, structures, décor, and scenic elements
Create mood boards, sketches, and/or renderings to communicate vision
Ensure alignment with the festival’s theme, values, and aesthetic
Production & Build
Oversee fabrication, sourcing, and installation of stage elements
Collaborate with production teams on structural feasibility and safety
Manage materials, vendors, and build timelines
Be present for load-in, installation, and strike
Collaboration
Work closely with Lighting Director, Sound Team, and Production Manager to ensure cohesive integration
Coordinate with artists and performers when needed to support their stage requirements
On-Site Execution
Lead or support installation and final styling of the stage
Troubleshoot design or structural issues in real time
Ensure the stage remains safe, functional, and visually impactful throughout the event
Maintenance & Oversight
Conduct daily checks to maintain the integrity of stage design elements
Make adjustments as needed based on weather, wear, or performance needs
Qualifications
Experience in stage design, scenic design, installation art, or experiential environments
Strong visual design skills with an eye for composition, scale, and atmosphere
Ability to bring concepts from idea → build → execution
Knowledge of materials, fabrication, and basic structural considerations
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Skills
Experience with festivals, immersive events, or large-scale installations
Familiarity with lighting integration, projection, or interactive elements
Ability to work with natural environments (outdoor builds, terrain awareness)
Basic technical drawing or 3D rendering skills (SketchUp, Rhino, etc.)
Working Conditions
On-site presence required for build (load-in) and breakdown (strike)
Physically active role (lifting, outdoor work)
Exposure to varying weather conditions
Fast-paced, collaborative environment

We’re looking for a Lighting Designer to help create immersive lighting environments across the campout. This role focuses on shaping the atmosphere throughout various spaces (dancefloors, installations, pathways, and communal areas) to enhance the overall experience.
Responsibilities
Design and implement lighting across multiple areas of the event
Collaborate with stage designers, production, and creative teams to align on vision
Set up, program, and oversee lighting systems
Ensure lighting enhances flow, safety, and ambiance throughout the site
Make real-time adjustments based on environment, movement, and energy
Qualifications
Experience with event or environmental lighting (festivals, nightlife, installations, or art spaces)
Familiarity with lighting equipment, DMX systems, and basic programming
Strong sense of atmosphere, spatial awareness, and visual storytelling
Ability to work independently and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Bonus
Experience with outdoor or site-specific installations
Understanding of how lighting influences movement, mood, and connection
Interest in immersive or community-driven events

Overview
The Licensed Nurse Practitioner provides on-site medical care and wellness support for attendees, staff, and artists during Dance Beyond Campout. This role ensures a safe, responsive, and compassionate environment by addressing medical needs, supporting harm reduction, and contributing to overall community well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Medical Care & Response
Provide primary care for minor injuries and illnesses (cuts, dehydration, exhaustion, allergic reactions, etc.)
Assess and triage medical situations, determining when escalation or emergency services are required
Respond promptly to on-site medical incidents
Harm Reduction & Wellness
Support a harm reduction approach, meeting individuals with compassion and without judgment
Assist with cases related to substance use, heat exhaustion, or emotional distress
Offer grounding, reassurance, and basic wellness guidance when needed
Medical Station Management
Ensure proper documentation of incidents and care provided
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Collaboration & Communication
Coordinate with event organizers, safety teams, and security staff
Communicate clearly during emergencies and support escalation protocols
Be available via radio or designated communication channels during shifts
Preparedness & Safety
Conduct pre-event checks of medical supplies and equipment
Ensure readiness for a range of scenarios in an outdoor environment
Support overall safety planning and risk mitigation efforts
Qualifications
Active Nurse Practitioner license
Must be licensed and in good standing in the state of Massachusetts
Current CPR/BLS certification (ACLS preferred)
Experience in emergency care, urgent care, or event/festival settings preferred
Ability to stay calm and make decisions under pressure
Strong interpersonal and compassionate care skills
Preferred Experience
Background in festival or remote/outdoor medicine
Familiarity with harm reduction practices
Experience working with diverse populations in high-energy environments
Interest in holistic or integrative care approaches
Working Conditions
On-site presence for the duration of the event (multi-day)
Outdoor environment with varying weather conditions
May involve high energy, fast-paced, or unpredictable situations
